December 5th – Golf
Anyone watching the Australian Open this week would know its been a lottery for those who get to play at the right times. When the wind blows the course has been almost impossible with only 2 golfers being able to find a way to get birdies and stay out of trouble. STUART APPELBY ($2.20) played brilliantly on day one to record a 6 under total in horrbile conditions when most golfers really struggled. He backed it up again with another 6 under total to be 12 under for the tournament and hold a 2 stroke lead over ADAM SCOTT ($3.60). I was very close to backing Scott this week who has really improved since his return to Australia and may have found his mojo again. I have always said this guy is a super talent but have been against him for the last few years as his game has gone completely off the rails. The big advantage for Scott this week will be his putting which is far superior to Appleby who is known to struggle when the pressure is on. For that reason i am going to back Scott for the overall title.
